Technology & Innovation

Performance

• The MF 400 Xtra is powered by the ever-reliable Perkins engine. Combined with the heavy-duty transmission and rear axle make the MF 400 the ideal mid-range tillage and transport tractor.

Engine

• The MF 400 Xtra Perkins 2.5 to 4.4-litre engines provide a maximum power of 46 to 100 hp. The MF 415 Xtra is powered by a 2.4 litre Simpson engine.

12x4 Mechanical Transmission

• 12F x 4R side shift Constant-mesh configuration Makes gear selection easier reducing driver fatigue. It features Partial gearbox synchronisation on 2nd and 3rd gear and High and Low ranges.

8x2 Mechanical Transmission

• The 8F x 2R centre shift transmission features straight cut gears and gear leavers mounted centrally enabling easy operation. Four gears fall within the typical field working range 4 km/h to 12 km/h and 30 km/h nominal maximum transport speed.

• Platform or cab, you are assured of a comfortable & successful day on the farm.

Frame and Sun Canopy

• The canopy is optional from the factory. It protects the driver from the sun’s UV rays, reducing the glare and heat exposure. The result is a more comfortable operator environment and greater productivity.

Cab

• Spacious six-post cab design with clear floor area due to side shift transmission and pendant clutch and brake pedals. All cabs feature air conditioning and heating with a cab mounted filter to reduce dust ingress.

Thicker Steering Wheel Design

• The cab’s steering wheel features a thicker, more comfortable rim design.

Semi-Platform Version

• Ergonomic control layout with major controls grouped on either side of the operator’s seat. Sound and vibration-absorbing matting and noise reflecting glass panels on the operator station.

Simple Controls

• Controls are simple to use and easily accessible, with an easy-to-read instrument panel and improved switches, while foot controls are operated by pendant pedals for further comfort.

Productivity

• The MF 400 Xtra is compatible with a wide range of implement which increases the number of operations the machine can be used with.

MF Scotch Yoke Pump

• The pump is situated in the bottom of the rear axle centre housing, immersed in oil. This ensures that it is always accessible to the oil and means that the oil lines are kept to a minimum giving uninterrupted oil supply to the gearbox and rear axle.

Live PTO and IPTO - IPTO optional from factory

• All models are equipped with a live drive 540 rpm PTO with a standard 6 spline 35mm shaft. This allows drive to be transferred to rear-mounted implements such as mowers or static threshing machines, keeping linkages to a minimum.

Four Hitch Configurations

• There is a choice of four hitch configurations; Automatic pick-up hitch, height-adjustable hitch with swinging drawbar, haulage drawbar and less hitch.

Four-wheel drive axle

• The input shaft for the front axle is aligned with the front axle central pivot point with Centre Drive 4WD. It also includes Intermediate support bearing supplied along the drive shaft.

Two-wheel drive axle

• The 11 degrees oscillation fully adjustable axle in seven steps is suitable for various crop configurations and field conditions.
