The NINJA was designed to terminate cover crops without tillage or the use of chemicals. The chevron blades roll smooth to crimp the cover crop at the stem which results in several benefits:

• Terminate cover crops – The crimper will lay down the cover crop to form a matte. It will be crimped at the stem to stop flow of water and nutrients which will ultimately kill the crop.
• Suppress weeds – The residue matte will block sunlight from weed seeds and compete with weeds for space and nutrients.
• Conserve soil moisture – The residue matte will reduce evaporation and keep soil cooler.
• Increase organic matter – The residue matte will decompose back into soil to improve soil structure and protect the soil from erosion.
• Decrease soil erosion – The residue matte will reduce loss of topsoil. It is recommended to crimp at the appropriate growth stage in order to achieve best results. If crimped too early, the stem may be strong enough to stand back up and compete with the cash crop. If crimped too late, the cover crop may produce viable seeds which could sprout.

Available in a variety of sizes and configurations, the Ninja Roller Crimper features 3/8” thick chevron pattern blades for smooth rolling and heavier bearings than competitors. Its chevron blades roll smooth and lay residue down to the ground before crimping. The laid down residue will form a weed suppressing matte, conserve soil moisture, and increase organic matter.

This roller crimper is commonly used to terminate cereal rye, hairy vetch, triticale, and more.
